BillSplit is built privacy-first. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information.

On-device processing

Receipt photos are analysed entirely on your device using Apple’s Vision framework (iOS) and Google’s ML Kit (Android). Your photos and receipt contents are never uploaded to any server, and BillSplit has no backend that receives them.

What we store

Only the information you choose to keep — merchant name, items, amounts, people, and split results — is saved locally on your device. You can delete any bill at any time from the History screen, which removes it from your device.

Photos

Receipt images are held only in memory while a receipt is being read. They are not stored after the scan completes.

Analytics

The app may record anonymous, on-device usage signals (for example, that a scan started or a split completed) to help us improve reliability. These signals contain no personal data and no receipt contents.

Advertising

The free version of BillSplit shows occasional interstitial ads provided by Google AdMob. Ads may use a device advertising identifier as described in Google’s policies. Upgrading to Premium removes ads.

Purchases

Premium is an in-app purchase managed by the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). BillSplit does not see or store your payment details.

Children

BillSplit is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
